About
The Human Resources staff is responsible for a number of important functions of the General Division:
- Staff confers with various management persons to determine, define, and assist in development and establishment of policy and programs which will enable attainment of organizational needs, objectives, and legal requirements
- Assists senior level management in defining areas which require attention to conform to policies, procedures, regulations, rules or contracts
- Assists with investigative processes regarding complaints or non-compliance with regulations, policies or contracts
- Assists management to ensure HR processes and procedures remain in compliance with federal, state, county policy, regulations and rules
- Assists in the recruitment of new employees, including the preparation of job posting documents, processing of all application materials for the appropriate Deputy Court Administrator, and participating in interviews and assisting in the selection of candidates when requested
- Develops and implements orientation schedules for all new judges and judicial staff
- Prepares and maintains employee listings and rosters
- Maintains the HR database
- Securely maintains all FMLA, discipline, and medical leave employee documentation
- Responds to inquiries from employees and/or the general public
- Attends hearings as management representative when needed and serves on committees as selected
- Prepares discipline paperwork and assists management and employee throughout the discipline process, assuring that all relevant policies and procedures are followed
- Prepares the General Division’s portion of the Annual Report
- Acts as liaison between County HR/Benefits representatives and General Division employees, including attending numerous County HR meetings to keep abreast of changes and enhancements in County benefits and addresses such changes with General Division employees
- Assists management staff in more complex HR functions such as employee relations, staff development, position organization, and regulations compliance reviews

Step 3: Apply for Employment
The Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas | General Division provides an online web application form that can be accessed by clicking on the button below. All notifications regarding your application for the position will be sent to the email address you provide when creating your online application. Please make sure you check your email regularly for information and refer to the documented process to calculate a general timeline for when you could be hearing confirmation on the position you applied for.
Step 4: Take a drug test
The court requires prospective employees that are interviewed to participate and pass a drug test. Please click on the buttons below to fill out the web form below. Directions to the Lab where the drug tests are done are provided for you below as well:
Step 5: Review and Interview Process
The Court’s Human Resources Department and the Court’s Business Units will review all of the resumes and applications for the job posting you applied for. You will either be cut from consideration, which means the Court will send a regrets e-mail or the court will reach out to you to schedule one or more interviews.
All of the collected information: (1) interviews, (2) your references, (3) the background/driver eligibility checks, (4) and drug tests are used in the selection process so the courts can make an official offer to the best candidate.
Step 6: Notification
The court will either send you a regrets e-mail or an e-mail with an official offer for employment for the position you applied for.
All notifications regarding your application for the position will be sent to the email address you provided when creating your online application. Please make sure you check your email regularly for information.
Once you officially accept an offer for employment, the court will send you a user name and password that will enable you to gain access to the Court’s Employee Portal where you will have access to the New Employees Pages that provides an overview of the process and web forms you need to complete for employment.
